According to Mercedes, this jaw-dropping range becomes possible because due to its highly sophisticated powertrain and lightweight battery pack that will convert 95 percent of battery power into mechanical energy. To compare, this efficiency is 30 percent in conventional fuel-based vehicles.

How Mercedes has achieved this range?

For such a high-efficiency company worked on energy density rather than making the battery bigger and heavier. The energy density of its battery pack has been drastically improved to 200 Wh/kg. Due to such high energy density, the battery of this prototype can store 100 kWh. Interestingly, the battery housing of this car takes 50% lesser space while weighing 30% less than similar capacity batteries.
