Last year, at the 2021 Los Angeles Auto Show, Kia had taken the wraps off its latest electric vehicle Kia EV9 concept SUV. Now, the flagship three-row SUV has been confirmed for Europe in 2023. With unapologetically bold looks and loaded with the latest tech, the car will give a major challenge to its existing counterparts. Let’s have a look at this upcoming three-row KIA EV9 SUV.
Exterior:
When we gaze at it while coming, we can see massive grills in front without much space for vents and offer a very clean look. In place of vents, it has trims and trendy pixel-like daytime running lights. The car has not ordinary roof rails, but retractable ones that hide away when not in use to reduce air resistance.
Besides, for even better sustainability, cars have a built-in solar panel that can generate some electricity. The EV9 has a sharp and modern outline with flared arches and bold creases.
Interestingly, the concept car was shown with rear-hinged back doors that give a pillar-less design, which creates huge space. This design, however, may not come with the actual model. When we gaze at this car from the backside, it has got a very minimalist design. It has slim-look tail lights with a clean and classy back.

The cabin of this car looks amazingly spacious and luxurious. The EV9’s first and third rows can be rotated 180 degrees, while the second-row seat can be folded flat to form a table. This layout allows the cabin of the car to be converted into a lounge-like space, and the cabin is naturally illuminated with light coming from the panoramic glass roof. This further adds to the sense of modernity in the car. There’s also a third row on the EV9 that can be folded backward. The material used is seats and mats are made up of sustainable material.
Smart features:
Kia EV9 gets a large central screen which is located at the center of the dashboard. A multi-purpose 27-inch widescreen is affixed at the center of the dashboard. All the car’s functions from climate control to seat rotation can be managed from the screen.
Battery and range:
It will be based on the e-GMP platform and the battery is mounted on the floor of the car. There is no official word from the KIA about the production car’s battery capacity or range. The company, however, claims that the Kia EV9 concept SUV can cover a range of up to 300 miles (482 km) on a single full charge. Moreover, it can be charged through the most powerful DC fast charger. The company says that the EV9 concept battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in 20 to 30 minutes at a 350-kW feed. The battery capacity has not been disclosed by the makers yet.
