by Shatakshi Gupta

Whether it be two-wheelers, three-wheelers, or four-wheelers, electric vehicles are becoming more and more popular. While the other sectors provide a wide range of options, the market for four-wheeler passenger vehicles requires a link between mass producers like the Tata Nexon EV and ultra-luxury models like BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi.

Here in this article, we are listing 5 premium electric cars which will be introduced in India by 2023. Let’s look at 5 premium electric vehicles that are anticipated from automakers by 2023.

BMW iX1 EV

BMW is pursuing Mercedes closely and has plans to introduce iX1 EVs in India. Given that it would be a CBU, the iX1 is anticipated to cost around Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom) and will compete with the Mercedes EQA and the Volvo XC40 Recharge. Early in 2023, BMW anticipates launching both vehicles in India.

Mercedes-Benz EV

Mercedes-Benz, a German luxury automaker, currently sells the EQC in India. In the upcoming months, the company also plans to launch the EQS and the EQA, two vehicles with ex-showroom prices of roughly Rs 1.75 crore and Rs 60 lakh, respectively. The EQS SUV is set to debut as the third product, sometime in the second quarter of 2023. Price estimates for the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV range between Rs 2 crore and Rs 3 crore (ex-showroom).

Volvo XC40

On July 26, the XC40 Recharge will make its debut in India, according to a statement from Volvo. The XC40 Recharge will be produced in India, and the manufacturer anticipates charging roughly Rs 65 lakh for it (ex-showroom). According to Volvo, its WTLP range is 418 kilometres, on par with that of its rivals, and it can be fully recharged using a 50kW DC fast charger in 2.5 hours.

Q4 Audi e-tron

The Q4 e-Tron, one of Audi’s anticipated EV launches, is also included on the list. The e-Tron will be supplied as a CBU and is anticipated to go on sale in the first half of 2023 for a price of about Rs 80 lakh (ex-showroom). When it is released, the Audi Q4 e-Tron will face competition from the Volvo XC40 Recharge, the Ioniq 5, the EV6, as well as future models from Mercedes-Benz and BMW. Audi may, however, be at a disadvantage as a result of the CBU approach.

Skoda will import the electric SUV as a CBU, so when it is released, anticipate it to cost roughly Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom).
