Volvo is planning to ramp up its electric SUV line-up in India with C40 Recharge Coupe; Check features

The eagerly anticipated Volvo XC40 Recharge electric SUV was introduced to the Indian market on July 26 by Volvo Cars India, and it comes with an outstanding price tag of Rs 55.9 lakh. The business also disclosed that it would introduce the C40 Recharge coupe SUV to the Indian market at some point in 2023 after the debut. Based on the XC40 Recharge, the C40 Recharge coupe electric SUV has an all-electric drivetrain and no ICE competitor. The second electric vehicle from Volvo in India will be the C40 Recharge. The Volvo C40 Recharge will travel the CKD route to reach India. Volvo is anticipated to price this SUV at around INR 60 lakh (ex-showroom). The C40 coupe SUV will have competition when it debuts from the Mini Cooper SE, Kia EV6, Hyundai IONIQ 5, and BMW i4.

Exterior

The XC40 coupe variant is essentially the Volvo C40 Recharge. The front views of the XC40 and C40 are nearly identical. The C40 features a roofline that slopes, giving it a coupe-like appearance. Moving to the back, it has sporty-looking twin-pod roof spoilers and elegant tail lamps. New pixel technology is also added to the C40’s headlights.

Interior

The C40 Recharge’s interior is identical to the XC40’s in terms of dashboard design. The C40 Recharge is the first Volvo vehicle to feature a leather-free interior.

Features

It includes features like a 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, a 360-degree camera, and a PM 2.5 air filter, as well as an infotainment system running the Google Android operating system with built-in apps and digital services, a digital instrument display, wireless phone charging, and a panoramic sunroof.

Safety

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), a Blind Spot Monitoring System, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, and seven airbags are among the vehicle’s safety features.

Performance

The XC40 Recharge’s powertrain is used in the Volvo C40 Recharge as well. A 78-kWh battery powers a pair of electric motors that are mounted on the front and rear axles, respectively. The C40 Recharge, according to Volvo, has a range of about 420 kilometres. The electric motors have a power output of 408 bhp and a torque output of 660 Nm. Volvo states that the battery can be charged from empty to 80% in 40 minutes and that it can enable rapid charging up to 150kW.
